Salem’s art scene can be easy to overlook until you start paying attention to it. It’s spread across downtown galleries, campus collections, historic spaces, cultural exhibits, and public places you might pass every week without really noticing. This guide is a good excuse to slow down, look around, and see a different side of the city.

New hotel! Our first time staying at this hotel and we had the BEST stay! 🏨✨ Our room was very spacious and the amenities were great. Having a gym and laundry facilities was definitely a plus! 🙌🏼 We truly enjoyed our stay and would happily come back again! ❤️

This is such an awesome little mini golf place. The holes are super creative and the owners are an absolute pleasure. We drove 2 hours just to check it out and we are glad that we did.

  • Big Meadow is truly beautiful and exceptionally well-maintained. The downhill greens were extremely fast and the back 9 was definitely our favorite!! Only if some of the front desk staff (not the young ones) could’ve been a bit more friendlier, this would easily have been a 5-star course!! Thanks Big Meadow. My family had a great time in both rounds!!

Absolutely wonderful play, love the mini golf course! A full 18 holes, mostly shaded, with beautiful water features and no shortage of fun for the whole family! They are even nice enough to have ball retrieving poles along the course to rescue lost balls from said water features! Skill level 6/10+!!!

  • My mom and I were passing through after my father’s funeral and was hoping to check in early so we could get some rest after such a long drive. I’ve been to many hotels and it is usually a fee of some sort or just not allowed. Even with it being early the front desk person Nile went out of his way and went the extra mile to call housekeeping on the walkey talkey and track down a room that had just been cleaned so we could get in. With everything being so hard and having to deal with a death in the family this small act of kindness made things easier for me and mom and I want to send so many thanks to that fine gentleman. I guess it’s a new hotel just built and I could smell the chemicals on the rugs in the room which wasn’t great but having such a long trip we just cracked the window and went right to sleep. Waking up to the train is not great either but at least coffee was hot and breakfast was plentiful. We received smiles and hellos from everyone working and the lobby had a warm friendly feeling. After a great rest and our bellies full we were sent off with the same young man Nile’s at the desk who wished us the best day ever and got us a paper receipt upon checkout. If we ever pass by again we will stop here purely for the great customer service from this fine establishment.

I've had the opportunity to experience The Aerie at Eagle Landing as a neighbor, for functions as a realtor with NW Nest Real Estate, and as a member of the Happy Valley Business Alliance. The venue is stunning. The food outstanding. The staff is so hospitable. Kudos to Chef Kristin O'Dell and the team for the fabulous Supper Series meals I've bee fortunate enough to attend. We are fortunate to have Eagle Landing as a neighbor in our local community!
