In 2024, two longtime friends turned business partners, Adam Stebbins and TJ Mozee-Baum, set out to create something special in the world of plumbing. They wanted to serve their community in the Salem and Portland areas with the same care and attention they would give to their own homes. The result? Paradise Plumbing NW, LLC, a small, local plumbing company that prides itself on quality work and personalized service, all while helping customers enjoy their “slice of paradise” in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

A Name That Embraces the Northwest

The name “Paradise Plumbing” wasn’t chosen at random. Adam and TJ wanted a name that reflected their deep love for the region they call home. As Adam explains, “We live in the Northwest paradise, so it just made sense to us to really embrace that and share it with our customers.” The Pacific Northwest offers an incredible diversity of natural beauty, from the coast to the high desert, and they wanted their plumbing business to reflect that sense of comfort and care for the local community.

Their tagline, “Your Slice of Paradise,” sums up their approach. Whether it’s fixing a leaky faucet or installing a new water heater, Adam and TJ are focused on helping customers enjoy their homes to the fullest, without the stress of plumbing issues getting in the way.

From Music to Plumbing: A Friendship Turned Business Partnership

Adam and TJ’s journey to co-owning a plumbing business together is unique. The two originally met through their shared passion for music. “We’ve known each other for almost 12 years,” Adam says. “We were playing music together in a couple of bands before TJ went into plumbing.” TJ’s early career in plumbing saw him working through the apprentice route, while Adam’s background was in natural resources and environmental management.

When TJ decided to take the leap and start his own plumbing business, Adam jumped on board to help with the business side. “You focus on the plumbing, and I’ll focus on everything else,” Adam recalls telling TJ as they began building the company in early 2024. By April, Paradise Plumbing NW, LLC was officially licensed, and the duo has been steadily growing the business ever since.

The Challenges and Blessings of 2024

Running a business always comes with surprises, and Paradise Plumbing NW, LLC is no exception. One of the biggest challenges Adam has faced is cutting through the noise to reach customers when they need help the most. “With plumbing, it’s usually something has already happened, and they need you right away,” Adam notes. In a busy market, standing out can be tough, but they’ve learned to stay flexible and responsive to customers’ urgent needs.

On the other hand, the blessings of running a business with a close friend have been abundant. “The biggest blessing is supporting best friends, good friends,” Adam says. “It’s locally owned, and we have families. We’re really good friends, best friends. So that’s a blessing for sure.” The personal connection between Adam, TJ, and their customers is a key part of what makes Paradise Plumbing NW, LLC different from the large, corporate plumbing companies that have been increasingly bought up by private equity firms in recent years.

Services Tailored to Your Needs

Paradise Plumbing NW, LLC offers a range of plumbing services, with a focus on both residential and smaller commercial projects. Whether it’s a quick drain cleaning or a full water heater installation, Adam and TJ make sure every job is handled with the highest level of care and professionalism.

“We do everything from drain cleaning to water heater replacements, and we really thrive in those tough, hard-to-reach spots, like crawl spaces,” Adam says. In fact, they’ve even given TJ the nickname “Crawl King” for his expertise in tackling difficult plumbing repairs in older homes with cramped spaces. “TJ has a ton of experience in very difficult environments,” Adam adds, especially in Salem’s older homes that often come with unique plumbing challenges.

On the residential side, any homeowner needing plumbing service is an ideal client for Paradise Plumbing NW, LLC. “We want to get there as fast as we can and fix their problem,” Adam says. They also work closely with property managers to help maintain rental properties, offering everything from leaking faucet repairs to full repiping projects.

One of their standout services is the free whole-home evaluations they offer to ensure everything in a customer’s plumbing system is running smoothly. “We always talk about doing a whole-home evaluation, especially with the holidays coming up,” Adam explains. With colder weather on the way, it’s a great time to make sure your plumbing is prepared for increased usage from family gatherings and seasonal events.

Seasonal Tips for Homeowners

As we head into fall and winter, there are a few key things homeowners should keep in mind to avoid plumbing headaches. First, Adam recommends making sure your drains are clear of leaves and other debris. “With the leaves falling, making sure your drains are clear and functioning properly is critical for the integrity of your home,” he says. A clogged drain can quickly turn into a major issue, especially with winter rains on the horizon.

Second, it’s important to ensure your water heater is up to the task of keeping your home supplied with hot water. “We’re running specials through the fall on water heater installations,” Adam mentions, noting that they’re currently offering $200 off water heater installations. Paradise Plumbing NW, LLC takes care of the entire process, from removing the old unit to installing and ensuring the new one runs perfectly.

Finally, water quality is another big focus, especially in older homes that may have outdated plumbing materials. “We can do water filtration systems to make sure that what you’re drinking and bathing in is healthy,” Adam says. Lead and asbestos can be hidden dangers in older plumbing systems, and Paradise Plumbing NW, LLC is equipped to help address those concerns.

A Commitment to Quality and Integrity

For Adam and TJ, it’s not just about fixing pipes—it’s about ensuring their customers have the best experience possible. “We will make sure that you have options to meet your goals for your slice of paradise,” Adam says. They take pride in offering transparent, top-tier service while giving homeowners choices that fit their budget and needs. “We’re never going to do anything to your plumbing system that we wouldn’t want in our own home,” Adam adds.

That commitment to integrity and personal care is a big part of what sets Paradise Plumbing NW, LLC apart in a crowded marketplace. As a small, local business, they know the value of building relationships with their customers and supporting the community they love.

Beyond Plumbing: A Glimpse Into Adam’s Life

While plumbing keeps them busy, Adam and TJ haven’t left their musical roots behind. “We’ve been in a couple of bands together,” Adam shares, reflecting on their shared love of music before starting Paradise Plumbing NW, LLC. When they’re not working, Adam enjoys spending time with his family and exploring local spots like the Stone Front Tavern in South Salem, a new favorite restaurant of his. “They have amazing food and it’s a great place to watch a game,” he says.

For Adam and TJ, Paradise Plumbing NW, LLC is more than a business—it’s a way to stay connected to their community, support local homeowners as well as property managers, and provide high-quality, trustworthy service. Whether you need a water heater replaced or just want to make sure your home is ready for winter, Paradise Plumbing NW, LLC is ready to help you take care of “your slice of paradise” in the Pacific Northwest.
