Get ready for a night of music, community, and fun at the Mavericks Music & More event on Friday, September 13, 2024, hosted by Mavericks Independent Baseball League at the iconic Salem Keizer Volcanoes Stadium. Sponsored by Kickin’ Cancer, this free event promises to be an exciting evening filled with entertainment, as a way to say thank you to the community for their support of Kickin’ Cancer in 2024. Whether you’re a fan of live music, sports, or simply enjoy coming together for a good cause, this is an event you won’t want to miss.
The festivities will kick off at 5:30 PM and run until 9:00 PM, with a dynamic lineup of activities designed to engage all ages. Headlining the night will be local favorites, the “Fam Jam” band, who will bring their unique blend of musical genres to the stage from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Their upbeat, family-friendly tunes are sure to get everyone on their feet, creating the perfect atmosphere for a lively night.
But the fun doesn’t stop with the music. At 8:00 PM, the spotlight will shift to a special Sloppy Joes Softball game, on the ASStro turf, all in the name of Kickin’ Cancer. Two local men’s softball teams known as the “Sloppy Joes” will play a competitive game of softball adding a spirited touch to the evening as they come together to raise awareness and support for those battling cancer. The Sloppy Joes Softball game is bound to be a crowd-pleaser, blending athletic fun with a meaningful cause.
Other activities include the opportunity to try out disc golfing with equipment provided by Kuhl Disc, a local Disc Golf company and proud supporter of Kickin’ Cancer. There will also be a gaming lodge set up for the kids.
Food will be available for purchase onsite from Volcanoes Stadium concessions.
The event is free to attend. For those who would like to do so, donations will also be welcomed to help support Kickin’ Cancer’s mission and to fund future community events.
Parking will be available onsite for five dollars ($5).
RSVPs are required to participate in this highly anticipated community event to make sure there will be enough staff on site to facilitate running the event concessions.
