If you’re looking for a fresh and luxurious experience right in the heart of downtown Salem, look no further than the Holman Riverfront Park Hotel. Located close to the scenic Willamette River, this newer hotel has quickly become a great addition to Salem, and for good reason.

Recently, we had the pleasure of enjoying a one-night staycation at the Holman, thanks to a gift certificate we won when the hotel hosted the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce greeters. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this wasn’t just another run of the mill hotel—this was going to be an experience.

First impressions matter, and the Holman Riverfront Park Hotel knows how to make a great one. The service was genuinely welcoming, and the valet service was smooth and efficient. While there are non-valet self-parking options available, we decided to indulge in the convenience of valet, and it was worth it.

One of the unique features of the hotel is the beautiful green space located off the 4th floor. While it wasn’t accessible for us to use, and we couldn’t help but imagine how perfect it would have been as a rooftop bar, it still added a refreshing touch of nature that complemented the urban energy of downtown Salem.

We stayed in a deluxe room that was nothing short of spacious, immaculate, and thoughtfully designed. It had everything you’d need for a comfortable stay, including a convenient mini-kitchenette, a luxurious king-sized bed, a generously-sized table with chairs, and a modern bathroom with sleek sliding doors. The view of the Willamette River in the distance was the cherry on top—a serene touch that enhanced the overall charm of the experience.

But what really sets the Holman apart for us is its perfect downtown location. Everything is within an easy walk—whether it’s the serene Riverfront Park, the Gerry Frank Rotary Amphitheater, the iconic Peter Courtney Minto Island Bridge, or a host of local restaurants and venues. This easy access made for a great evening stroll, some enjoyable exercise, and an all-around pleasant experience.

For a late dinner, we checked out the hotel’s own Pacific Standard restaurant. Not only was the food delicious, but they were also incredibly accommodating of my dietary restrictions, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. As the evening progressed, the Pacific Standard began to fill up, drawing in both hotel guests and locals alike, creating a lively and vibrant atmosphere.

Now, no stay is complete without a little quirk to remember it by. In this case, it was the furniture. While the sofa in our room was comfortable, the chair seemed to be designed for someone 6’4″ or taller! Much of the hotel’s furniture followed this trend. You might need a pillow behind your back if you’re a bit shorter like us. Consider it a humorous part of the Holman experience!

Overall, our stay at the Holman Riverfront Park Hotel was fantastic. It’s a great addition to downtown Salem’s hospitality options, offering luxury, comfort, and a touch of local charm. Whether you’re a local looking for a staycation or a visitor wanting to experience the best of Salem, the Holman is definitely worth a visit.

Whether it’s for business or pleasure, the Holman Riverfront Park Hotel is definitely a great new option in Salem. Why not plan your visit and see for yourself?
