Albany is growing, and with that growth comes the responsibility to ensure housing is available and affordable for everyone. In June 2023, the Albany City Council took a major step by adopting the Housing Implementation Plan (HIP) to address both current and future housing needs. Now, the City of Albany is asking for your input to help make those plans a reality.

City of Albany Housing Implementation Plan

Why Housing Matters to Us All

Housing isn’t just about providing a roof over someone’s head; it’s about creating a foundation for a strong, vibrant, and stable community. Studies have shown that when people have access to affordable housing, communities benefit in countless ways—social ties grow stronger, local economies flourish, and people feel more invested in where they live.

In Albany, this is especially true. Like many cities, Albany is experiencing increased demand for housing, and affordable options are becoming harder to find. By participating in this survey, you can directly influence the housing strategies that will shape our community’s future.

Make Your Voice Count

The City of Albany’s Housing Implementation Plan includes key strategies for making housing more accessible and affordable for residents. Your feedback on these strategies will help guide the City as they implement these critical changes. Whether you’re a homeowner, renter, or looking for your next home, this is your opportunity to have a say in Albany’s housing future.

The survey takes just 15-20 minutes, and your responses will be crucial in helping prioritize the next steps. Take a moment to fill it out here: Albany Housing Strategies Survey. The survey is available until Sunday, September 15, 2024. You can also learn more about the Housing Implementation Plan on the City of Albany’s official website here.

What’s Next for Albany?

Housing availability and affordability are essential for ensuring a thriving community. The City of Albany is committed to addressing these needs, but they can’t do it without you. By contributing to this survey, you’re helping to build a future where everyone in Albany has the opportunity to live in a home they can afford.

Let’s work together to make Albany an even better place to call home!
