While Earth Day is officially this Wednesday, April 22, the Albany Public Schools Foundation (APSF) is turning the entire week into a community-wide win for both the environment and local students.

From now through April 26, the Foundation is participating in the BottleDrop Earth Week Give. This annual event is a “multiplier” for local donations: BottleDrop is offering a 20% match on all funds raised through their Blue Bag program during this special window.

How to Participate

It’s the simplest way to give back without spending a dime. By using the pre-labeled APSF Blue Bags, 100% of the refund value (plus the 20% match) goes directly to funding classroom grants and student assistance programs.

  • Grab Your Free Blue Bags: Stop by the APSF office at 2953 Clover Ridge Rd. NE, Room #10 (located at Clover Ridge Elementary). You can call 541-979-2773 or email [email protected] to coordinate a pickup.
  • Drop Off Your Containers: Fill the bags and drop them at any BottleDrop location.
  • Direct Office Drop-off: Don’t have time for a BottleDrop run? The APSF office also accepts direct can donations during their office hours!

Donate Online with Your Green Bag Account

If you already use the BottleDrop Green Bag system, you can still trigger the 20% match for Albany schools:

  1. Log into your account at https://bottledrop.com/fundraiser/albany-public-schools-foundation/.
  2. Transfer your current balance to the Foundation. As long as the transfer happens by April 26, it qualifies for the extra 20% match!

Making a Difference for Albany Kids

This program offers a zero-cost way for the Albany community to make a significant impact. By simply recycling household containers, residents help provide the funding local teachers need for innovative art, music, and science tools that often fall outside of standard school budgets.
