Oregon State Fair
The Oregon State Fair heads into its second weekend at the Oregon State Fairgrounds, giving everyone a few more days to enjoy this annual end-of-summer tradition. Along with carnival rides, games, fair food, livestock and agricultural exhibits, 4-H and FFA competitions, creative displays, and roaming entertainment, this weekend’s concert lineup includes Jo Dee Messina, Uncle Kracker, Twisted Sister, and “Weird Al” Yankovic.

Free Community Martial Arts Class
Kensho Martial Arts is offering two free, beginner-friendly self-defense classes designed to help participants build confidence, awareness, and practical safety skills. Kids ages 7–14 can attend from 4:30–5:30 PM, followed by a women’s class for ages 14 and older from 5:30–6:30 PM. A waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian is required for children to participate.
Participants will get hands-on practice with simple, effective self-defense techniques. No uniform required for this drop-in class.

Family Feud at Heroes Taphouse
Ready for fun? Good answer! Heroes Taphouse is bringing Family Feud to Salem, professionally hosted on their own TVs and sound system. Bring friends and family, grab a bite, and choose from 24 taps, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options while enjoying some friendly competition. Reservations are recommended.

Punx in the Park
Punx in the Park returns to Salem Riverfront Park for a full day centered on youth, music, community, and connection. Presented by Punx with Purpose, this family-friendly festival is designed to help young people ages 11–18 feel supported, seen, and connected to local resources.
Youth who complete a survey can receive a wristband unlocking free perks like food from participating food trucks, clothing, haircuts, and more, with additional prizes available through the event passport. The day will also feature live performances from Toxic Zombie, Pretty Deadly, The Select, Turn to Mist, and Streetbound, along with youth speakers and special guest Scary Strong John.

Labor Day Music Weekend at RH Wines
RH Wines at Redhawk Winery is celebrating Labor Day weekend with two afternoons of live music, local wine, food, and vineyard views. BlackSmith Neighbors kicks things off Saturday while Grindz Food Truck serves up tasty food, and Sunday will feature live music from Beth and Ron of the Roundhouse Band. Stop by for one afternoon or make a weekend of it.

Labor Day Weekend at Cubanisimo Vineyards
A favorite Labor Day tradition returns to Cubanisimo Vineyards with three full days of live music, salsa dancing, and wine. Rudy’s Curbside Bistro will be serving food available for purchase throughout the event.
Free salsa lessons will be offered from 12:15–12:45 PM each day.
