Salem-Keizer Volcanoes Opening Weekend
The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes and Mavericks League return for another exciting season of summer baseball! Opening Weekend is filled with themed nights, including Opening Day on Wednesday, 50¢ Beer Night on Thursday, Educator Appreciation Night on Friday (with $5 admission for school district staff), Kids Day on Saturday (kids 12 and under get in free), and a special Mother’s Day celebration on Sunday.

Learn to Fish
Hosted by Our River, Salem NW Steelheaders, and Mid-Willamette Outreach Group, this family-friendly event at Keizer Rapids Park is designed to teach the basics of fishing through six interactive skill stations. Participants will learn casting, knot-tying, fish ID, water safety, and more. While no actual fishing will take place at this event, it’s a great opportunity to get ready for Oregon’s Free Fishing Weekend in June.

Mother’s Day Brunch at The Estate

Spring into Summer Kids Clothing Swap
This free community clothing swap (hosted by Highland Neighbors and the South Central Association of Neighbors (SCAN)) invites families to exchange gently used children’s clothing (sizes 0–12). All are welcome to participate, even if you don’t have clothes to donate. The event encourages sustainability, support for local families, and community connection. Early clothing donations can be dropped off at Center 50+ beginning May 2.
