1980s Throwback Weekend at Willamette Valley Vineyards

Willamette Valley Vineyards is celebrating 40 years of winemaking! Come by one of their locations and share in a special selection of wines from two of their vineyards planted in 1983: 2021 Bernau Block Pinot Noir and 2020 Elton Pinot Noir. You can also enjoy savings on their $83 Collection of 2022 Pinot Gris, 2022 Estate Chardonnay and 2022 Whole Cluster Pinot Noir.

Rofe Designs & CreativiTee 5-year Anniversary Celebration

Rofe Designs and CreativiTEE is a required stop during the First Friday Art Walk for good reason—they’re celebrating their 5th anniversary with an event full of creativity and community spirit! Festivities will include sampling cider from 1859 Cider Co. (yes, THAT cider company!), enjoying treats from Manna Bakery, and trying non-alcoholic cocktails from For Bitter For Worse. Guests can also add a design to a special 5-year CommuniTEE shirt. The evening will also feature guest artist Angela of Encanto Creations.

Salem’s Historic Grand Theatre Inaugural First Friday Art Walk Gala

As another stop on the art walk, Salem’s Historic Grand Theatre warmly invites you to the inaugural First Friday Art Walk Gala. This event will showcase artists Timmy Bewell, Emma Otherwise Designs, Alan Thompson, Eric Tautkus, Whisky Nick, and Decoupaz Dreamz, with music by Oregon Freddy. Enjoy art and music in the Brick Room throughout the evening, with a champagne toast at 5:30 PM and a theatre tour at 7:30 PM.

Spring Color Bowl Workshop

Gather a few friends for this great hands-on workshop in Wavra Farms’ heated greenhouse! Get ready to get your hands dirty and choose which plants—like pansies and primroses—you’d like to plant in your color bowl. Pruning Blueberries Workshop

Learn all about blueberry pruning and care with the Marion County Master Gardeners Association. This hands-on workshop covers everything from bed preparation to fertilization. The workshop is free but requires pre-registration through the MCMGA website, where you can find further details and registration links. The event will proceed regardless of weather.

Additionally, participants should read OSU pamphlets Growing Blueberries in Your Home Garden EC 1304 and Blueberry Cultivars for the Pacific Northwest PNW 656 (find them here) before attending and bring clean pruners or loppers.

Andee Joyce Presents Rhythm & Autism

Andee Joyce’s “Rhythm & Autism,” a one-woman musical comedy, explores growing up autistic in the ’60s and ’70s with humor and heart. Designed to be a sensory-friendly performance, this show invites people of all abilities to celebrate joy through a personal journey filled with ‘pop culture cheese’ and infectious rhythms.

This free event is hosted by the Salem Public Library Foundation and welcomes attendees on a first-come, first-seated basis.
