Makers’ Meetup: Whimsical Light Switch Covers
The Chapter House invites the community to put down the screens and get creative during its bi-monthly Makers’ Meetup. Held every other Friday, each gathering features a fun and unique craft to try. This week’s project gives participants the chance to create whimsical light switch covers. Kids ages 10 and under are free with the purchase of an adult ticket.

International Talk Like a Pirate Day
Celebrate a quirky holiday with local roots during International Talk Like a Pirate Day at the Albany Historic Carousel & Museum! Created in Albany in 1995, the playful holiday invites visitors to fill the day with plenty of “yarrs” and swashbuckling fun. Guests who arrive dressed like a pirate will receive a free ride card.

Albany Beer “Run”
The Albany Rotary Club is teaming up with Calapooia Brewing, Deluxe Brewing, and Titan Valley Brewing for Albany’s annual Beer “Run.” Proceeds will support the Albany Rotary Club and ABC House, a local nonprofit serving children and youth through child abuse assessments and support services. Participants who register by September 6 will also receive a Beer “Run” T-shirt.
