2025 Summer Y Games
The Mid-Willamette Family YMCA is hosting its annual Summer Y Games, a full day of friendly competition for both adult and youth teams. Participants can take on exciting challenges like field relays, 3-point contests, survivor puzzles, obstacle courses, soccer darts, water games, laser tag, and more. The day also features a BBQ lunch, team prizes, and a Best Dressed competition—all in support of YMCA programs.

Albany Toyota kicks off a big weekend in Albany with FREE monster truck rides from American Thunder Motorsports. On Friday afternoon, thrill seekers can climb into a massive truck for an unforgettable ride before heading to the Heritage Mall for the ElijahStreams Celebrating Children festivities.

Shrek The Musical JR.
The Albany Civic Theater’s summer youth program brings the beloved story of Shrek to life in this family-friendly musical adventure. Based on the DreamWorks Animation film and Broadway production, Shrek The Musical JR. follows the lovable ogre and his wisecracking sidekick on a quest to rescue Princess Fiona while embracing the message of love, acceptance, and friendship. Performances run about 1 hour and 20 minutes with no intermission, featuring both evening and matinee showings. Scheduled streaming is also available for those who prefer to enjoy the show from home.

Fire Fighters at Main Library

Carnival at the Carousel
The Historic Carousel & Museum invites the community to its 8th Annual Carnival, a fun-filled day of games, rides, food, and family entertainment. Guests can enjoy carousel rides, classic game booths, carnival characters, food vendors, face painting, photo booths, and a cakewalk. Game tickets are just 25¢ each, with most games costing two tickets. Family Fun Packs—featuring 60 game tickets and four carousel ride tokens—are available online for $18 through August 15 or $20 at the event. Admission is FREE. The celebration also serves as the grand finale of the 2025 Albany Summer Passport Program, with winners announced during the festivities.

Albany Scottish Festival & Highland Games 2025
Celebrate Scottish heritage at this free, family-friendly festival in Timber-Linn Memorial Park. The weekend includes traditional Highland Games, live music, artisan vendors, food and drink options, and a 21+ area. Unique attractions this year feature medieval fighting demonstrations and a possible visit from some Highland coos. Admission and parking are free, with donations welcome to help the event grow each year.
