South Albany High School Class of 2005 Reunion (Day 1)
The South Albany High School Class of 2005 is kicking off their 20-year reunion weekend with a casual, family-friendly meet & greet at The Barn at Hickory Station. This no-host, open house-style gathering includes a great selection of beverages on tap and local food trucks. The party room and outdoor seating are reserved just for the Class of ’05!

The South Albany High School Class of 2005 wraps up its reunion weekend with an adults-only evening at Calapooia Brewing Company. This casual, no-host event includes a limited food menu, plus beer, wine, cider, and Vivacity cocktails available for purchase.

WAHS 45-Year Class Reunion
West Albany High School’s Class of 1980 is marking 45 years with a no-host gathering at The Barn at Hickory Station. Fellow WAHS and SAHS classmates from those school years are invited to join the celebration. Attendees are also encouraged to organize additional side events—such as a golf scramble—to make the weekend even more memorable!

Empowerment-Based Self-Defense Masterclass (Session 1)
Hosted by Albany Public Library and the Arketa Foundation, this 3-part Empowerment-Based Self-Defense Masterclass runs the first three Saturdays of August. The program equips participants with practical safety tools through topics like situational awareness, de-escalation, verbal and physical defense, and more. Open to adults and youth ages 12+ (with a participating adult). Registration required.

The Musical Instrument Petting Zoo
The Albany Youth Orchestra, in collaboration with the Carnegie Library, is hosting a creative drop-in event for all ages. Try out musical instruments, learn the basics of watercolor and clay sculpting, and enjoy a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. Led by skilled artists and musicians, with all materials provided—no registration needed.

Albany Cake Picnic
Bring your best homemade cake, cupcakes, or dessert bars and join the Albany Public Library for a sweet summer gathering! The Albany Cake Picnic is a community dessert-sharing event where registered participants bring one easily shareable dessert along with a list of allergens. It’s a fun and flavorful way to connect with fellow bakers and enjoy tasty treats. Registration is required in advance.

Oregon’s Trail of Tears Exhibit
Opening August 1 at the Albany Regional Museum, this photography exhibit by Nolan Streitberger documents locations connected to Oregon’s historic Trail of Tears. Based on journals from U.S. Indian Agent George H. Ambrose, the exhibit offers a powerful visual narrative of the forced displacement of Indigenous people. Supported by the Oregon Arts Commission and the Kinsman Foundation.
