Native American Cultural Encampment
Experience Native American culture and community during this welcoming three-day encampment at Cascadia County Park. Guests of all ages are invited to attend, learn more about cultural traditions, and enjoy time together in a family-friendly, alcohol- and drug-free setting. A free community meal will also be offered Sunday evening, with one plate per person. Pets are welcome but must remain leashed and under control.

Northwest Art & Air Festival
The Northwest Art & Air Festival brings a colorful weekend of community fun to Timber Linn Park with hot-air balloons, art and food vendors, live concerts, a car show, family activities, and a beer and wine garden. Early risers can watch the balloons prepare for morning launches beginning at 6:15 a.m., weather permitting, while Friday evening’s popular Night Glow offers another chance to see the balloons light up the sky. The festival wraps up Sunday morning following the final balloon launch.

ServeINC Theater presents “The Little Mermaid”
ServeINC Theater brings Disney’s The Little Mermaid to the stage at the Russell Tripp Performance Center, featuring music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, and a book by Doug Wright. Performances on August 28 and August 30 will include ASL interpretation, making this beloved musical even more accessible for local audiences.

Free Community Day
Stop by the Albany Regional Museum for a special Free Community Day before the museum temporarily closes for an exhibit remodel beginning September 1. Visitors can explore the museum, enjoy refreshments, and take advantage of free admission during its final open day before reopening in mid-December.

Live Model Drawing & Painting
Local artisan Hilda Rueda invites artists of all skill levels to her Downtown Albany studio for a three-hour live-model drawing and painting session. Participants can practice capturing the human form from a dressed model while connecting with fellow local artists in a relaxed, creative setting. Instruction and materials are not provided, so attendees should bring their own supplies. Space is limited.
