When you step into No Baloney Subs & Salads in Albany, Oregon, you’re not just walking into another sandwich shop. You’re entering a place where quality matters, customer service comes first, and the community is part of the family. Crystine, who runs the shop on behalf of her family, and Kim, her right-hand gal, have made it their mission to serve up fresh, delicious meals while staying true to the shop’s original vision—”No Baloney, just quality.”
And if the packed room at their recent Albany Area Chamber of Commerce Greeters networking event was any indication, the love for No Baloney runs deep in the community.

A Local Staple with a Story
No Baloney first opened its doors in 2012, founded by Mollee Bidwell, who built the business on a commitment to fresh ingredients and high-quality service. In 2017, Crystine took over, embracing that same vision.
“My dad bought Baskin Robbins from Mollee, and I was managing another restaurant when the opportunity to take over No Baloney came up,” Crystine explained. “I said, ‘Sure, why not?’”
As the business grew, so did the demands, and in 2021, Crystine opened up BJ’s in ebanon. That’s when Kim stepped in to take charge of No Baloney’s day-to-day operations.
What Makes No Baloney Different?
At first glance, No Baloney might seem like a classic sandwich and salad shop, but the attention to detail and commitment to quality set them apart.
“If it’s not good enough to pop in your mouth, it goes in the trash,” Kim said, explaining their strict quality control. “That’s our rule for all employees. If you wouldn’t eat it, we won’t serve it.”
No Baloney also works closely with local vendors to source the best ingredients. A standout partnership is with KIS Family Farms in Albany, which provides fresh, broccoli, mustard, and pea microgreens harvested the same day they’re delivered.
Their menu is fully customizable—whether you want a classic sandwich, a massive salad, or something completely out of the box. And speaking of unusual orders, one customer once requested a sandwich loaded with mac & cheese, tuna fish, and chicken nuggets.
“It was basically a five-year-old’s dream meal in a sandwich,” Crystine laughed. “But hey, we’ll make whatever you want!”
Catering: From Office Lunches to Large Events
Beyond their everyday menu, catering has become a huge part of No Baloney’s success.
“We can do boxed lunches with a half sandwich, chips, and a cookie,” Kim explained. “Or we can put together big platters, a build-your-own sandwich bar, or whatever setup you need.”
The best part? They never say no.
“We’ve handled orders of over 100 sandwiches at a time,” Crystine said. “And if you’re in a bind and need something last-minute, give us a call. Kim’s here at 7:30 AM—we’ll make it happen.”
They even offer delivery with enough notice, including to businesses in Corvallis.
A Business That Gives Back
No Baloney isn’t just about making great food; it’s about supporting the community that supports them.
They regularly donate food and sponsor local events, including:
✔️ River Rhythms, providing meals for bands and crew
✔️ Albany YMCA sports programs, offering easy, grab-and-go meals for athletes
✔️ West & South Albany Wrestling Dual, feeding dozens of hungry student-athletes
✔️ Christmas Storybook Land & other holiday events
Even their food waste doesn’t go to waste—they donate unused produce to a local reptile shop instead of throwing it away.
“We want to make sure we’re doing our part,” Kim said. “Whether it’s sponsoring local teams, supporting fundraisers, or just making sure nothing goes to waste, we love being involved.”
