When the heat stops working on a cold Salem morning or the air conditioner gives up during the first hot spell of summer, finding a reputable HVAC company suddenly moves to the top of the to-do list.
Not every HVAC company brings the same mix of experience or services to the table. Some have been serving Salem families for decades, while others are newer businesses building their reputation in the community. Depending on the company, you may also find help with plumbing, electrical work, custom sheet metal, commercial refrigeration, or indoor air quality.

Before Replacing Your Furnace, AC, or Heat Pump
A failed component doesn’t always mean the whole system needs to go. Ask the contractor to explain what failed, the age and condition of the remaining equipment, repair cost, expected service life, efficiency differences, and any compatibility issues before deciding between repair and replacement.
For larger projects, getting more than one estimate can also help. Just make sure you’re comparing similar equipment, labor, warranties, controls, ductwork, electrical work, and permitting rather than only looking at the initial quote.
Choosing an HVAC Contractor in Salem
Heating and cooling work can range from a simple repair to one of the larger investments you’ll make in your home. Fortunately, Salem and Keizer have a mix of longtime contractors, smaller family businesses, and companies with specialties ranging from heat pumps and indoor air quality to plumbing, electrical work, custom ductwork, and emergency service.
Find the company that understands your system, clearly explains your options, and is a good fit for the kind of work your home actually needs.
