A Championship Reign for South Albany Volleyball
The standout story of the fall undoubtedly belongs to the South Albany High School RedHawks Varsity Girls Volleyball team. These incredible athletes capped off a dominant season by clinching the OSAA 5A State Championship for the second consecutive year. Their thrilling sweep over Bend High School on November 8th solidified their place as a powerhouse in Oregon high school volleyball and brought immense pride to the South Albany community.
Bulldogs Charge in Football Playoffs, RedHawks Show Resilience
On the gridiron, the West Albany Bulldogs football team enjoyed a strong showing, finishing their season with a commendable 7-4 record. Their powerful performance earned them a spot in the OSAA 5A State Playoffs, where they advanced to the second round before a nail-biting one-point loss ended their postseason run on November 14th. The South Albany RedHawks football team, while facing a challenging season, demonstrated resilience and grit, securing victories in league play and battling hard in every game.
Winter Sports Take Center Stage: Schedules Released!
With fall sports concluded, the focus has entirely shifted to the Winter Sports Season, which officially began practices and tryouts last week. Athletes are conditioning and teams are finalizing rosters in preparation for their opening competitions.
Basketball Fans won’t have to wait long for the action to heat up. The South Albany Boys Varsity Basketball team is set to host an early home game against Reynolds on December 5, 2025. The West Albany Boys Varsity Basketball team will begin their season on the road shortly after, with an away game scheduled for December 9, 2025.
