The 2024 Albany Business Extravaganza, hosted by the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, was a remarkable event showcasing the breadth and depth of businesses and organizations that make the Albany area thrive. From solo entrepreneurs to large corporate entities and non-profits, the event brought together the best of the local community under one roof.

With dozens of exhibitors, attendees had the opportunity to explore a wide variety of businesses, services, and potential new job opportunities. Whether it was grabbing a bite to eat from local favorites like Southpaws, No Baloney Subs & Salads, and Loafer’s Station, or sampling free coffee courtesy of The Brim Coffee Co., there was something for everyone. The beautifully wrapped Tesla Cybertruck by Xtreme Grafx and The Corvallis Contractor added a touch of innovation and excitement to the show floor.

One of the most valuable aspects of the Extravaganza was the chance to speak directly with representatives from both small local businesses and larger corporations. Attendees could connect with exhibitors like Red Canoe Credit Union, Hendrix Heating & Air, Stom Painters, Gift Baskets by Berlee’s Fancies, and Pure Energy Group to learn more about their services. Non-profits like Jackson Street Youth Services and CASA of Linn County were also in attendance, sharing their missions and connecting with potential volunteers and supporters.

Exhibitor Caleb Rice from Independent Merchant Brokers highlighted the event’s impact, sharing:
“We had a great time at the Albany Business Extravaganza. Made some great connections with some local referral partners. The atmosphere was great for business and great for the community. Everybody there seemed like they wanted to do business with each other. It was very helpful to our local business.”

From 10:00 to 11:00 AM, exhibitors participated in Booth to Booth Networking, a dedicated hour for vendors to connect with each other and explore potential partnerships or collaborations. This networking hour has become a favorite among exhibitors, with Greg Bolton from Landmark Professional Mortgage noting, “My favorite part of the Albany Chamber Business Extravaganza is networking with the other businesses at the show.”

Another highlight of the day was the Forum Luncheon from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, featuring Mitch Canham, head coach of the Oregon State University Baseball team. The luncheon provided an inspiring break during the event.

The event buzzed with energy, with door prizes adding an extra layer of excitement. From raffles to giveaways, attendees had the chance to win everything from gift cards to larger prizes offered by local businesses. Exhibitors were also excited about the opportunity to showcase their services to both business owners and community members alike.

Ryan Shelton from SelecTemp Employment Professionals shared,
“I think it was a great opportunity for anybody just wanting to learn more about different products and services offered in Albany, whether you’re a business owner or just a local community member. It was a great opportunity to find out more about what our community has to offer.”

Despite the pouring rain outside, the atmosphere inside was full of energy as exhibitors remained in high spirits and attendees eagerly engaged. The event perfectly captured the fun and vibrant spirit of the Albany business community.

The Albany Business Extravaganza isn’t just a trade show—it points to a strong and resilient local economy in Albany. The opportunity for small and large businesses, non-profits, and community leaders to come together is invaluable for fostering local connections and supporting the growth of the region. Whether you’re looking for a new service provider, a career opportunity, or simply want to see what Albany has to offer, this annual event delivers something for everyone.
