Hubs
WhirLocal Hubs allow you to build community-driven websites that showcase members and their content.
WhirLocal’s Hubs are a bit different than the groups you may be familiar with on social media and other platforms. WhirLocal Hubs allow you to build community-driven websites that showcase members and their content.
As always, make sure you have Published Your Business Profile , as you’ll be unable to manage or be invited to Hubs without a published profile.
Create A New Hub
To create a new Hub, select the ‘Hubs’ menu item on the left hand menu, and then in the upper right select ‘Create New Hub’.
When adding a Hub you’ll need to fill in basic details like the name, description, and any social media accounts.
You’ll also have to select some content moderation settings.
Membership Types
Moderated: This is the default setting. Any business can request to join, but you’ll need to approve all requests as the Hub manager.
Open: Means any business can immediately join the Hub.
Private (Invite Only ): The Hub manager must specifically invite users to participate in the Hub.
Content Visibility
Public: The Hub is viewable to everyone.
Private: The Hub is only visible to participating business users who are signed into their WhirLocal accounts.
Content Publishing Settings
Publish All Content: All content published by participating businesses will be published into the Hub feed.
Moderate Content By Type: This allows the Hub manager to set which types of content are published into the Hub feed.
Moderate All Content: All content must be approved by the Hub manager before it is published onto the Hub feed.
Hubs You Manage
The Hubs you manage will show up directly when clicking on the ‘Hubs’ menu item. It will display all your Hubs and their name, content publishing options, group statistics, with applicable Hub links.
Hub Landing Page: This is a great page to send to business you would like to join your Hub, it easily facilitates new businesses on WhirLocal as well as existing members.
View Hub: This link will take you directly to the Hub. Share this link far and wide!
Manage Hub: This will take you to the Hub Manage page where the Hub manager can control a whole range of features.
Hubs You’re In
In the ‘Hubs You’re In’ tab you’ll be able to control your business’ content that publishes to the Hubs you’re a part of. You’ll also be able to view and share the Hub landing page and the main Hub page.
