Staff Members

Adding your key staff members is a great way to help your online presence. People like associating local businesses with friendly local faces. WhirLocal allows you to add your key staff members, and even allows them to be “reviewable” when users leave you reviews. Let’s get started.

Departments

Departments let your organize your staff members into groups, such as “Development”, “Sales”, “Management”, etc. Click on Add Department to add one.

A popup will appear with a Department Name field. Go ahead and type in the name you’d like, and click Add Department. Close the popup when you’re done, and you’ll notice they all show up as purple tags.

Manage Departments

You can click on the “X” to remove a department (Note: This will not remove the staff members in the department). You may also drag & drop the departments to change the order in which they will appear on your business profile.

Add Staff Members

We don’t necessarily recommend adding all of your staff members, especially if you have a large organization. Start by adding key staff members and staff members that can be reviewed. Click Add Staff Member to get started.

A new popup will appear with all of the information you’ll be able to add for that staff member. Fill it out as completely as you can for each person (or office pet!) that you add.

Creation Mode

You can create a user account for your Staff Members when you add them through this interface. Just click the toggle switch and a few more fields (such as username) will be added to the form.

Profile Photo

Having a profile photo for each staff member is highly recommended. It provides a personal connection to your potential customers, and makes it easier to review individual staff members. Click on Select File, or just drag & drop an image from your desktop to begin the upload process.

Staff Member Info

This is the basic information for each staff member. If you have changed the Creation Mode to “Create a User Account” above, the Email Address field will become required, and a required Username field will show here as well.

If you toggle on the Allow Staff Member to be Reviewed switch, this staff member will show up in your WhirLocal Review Form:

Available Departments

Make sure you have added your Departments. You can drag any department from Available Departments into the upper field to assign this staff member to that department.

Social Media Accounts

Some staff members, especially in professional organizations, may want to display their Social Media Accounts here. We’ve curated the four most common ones for you to use. Be sure to include the https:// in the URLs!

Bio

Add a quick “about me” for your staff members. Who are they, what makes them tick, when did they start with the company, etc. This gives prospective customers something to relate to when researching your business and its staff members online.

Click Add Staff Member to add them to your list.

Editing Staff Members

Just click on any Staff Member’s name in your list, and a similar popup to the one above will show up, allowing you to edit their information as needed. The blue star that you see in the list indicates that the staff member is reviewable.
