Gallery Calapooia Artist Reception
Gallery Calapooia invites the community to its monthly First Friday artist reception, featuring ceramics artist Ute Vergin and her “Seaside” collection. Inspired by oceans, waves, sandy beaches, and tide pools, the collection offers a coastal touch to the gallery experience. Guests can enjoy wine and refreshments while browsing the artwork and connecting with local artists.

Makers’ Meetup Denim Embellishment
The Chapter House invites local makers to unplug and get creative during its bi-monthly Makers’ Meetup. This week’s project focuses on denim embellishment, giving guests the chance to bring in a favorite denim piece and experiment with a fun bleaching technique using safer, noncorrosive materials.

Dog Tails In Parade
Bring along a four-legged friend for Dog Tails In Parade at Bryant Park, where dogs and their owners can enjoy friendly competitions, connect with local vendors, and support a good cause. Proceeds from the event will benefit multiple local youth organizations. Dogs should remain leashed unless participating in the dog tricks event, and owners are responsible for their pets throughout the day.

Albany Open Studios Art Tour & Sale
Explore the work of 14 local artists during the Albany Open Studios Art Tour & Sale, featuring seven studios throughout the greater Albany area. Visitors can discover watercolor, acrylics, ceramics, glass, jewelry, textiles, wood, mixed media, and more while meeting the artists, learning about their creative processes, and possibly catching a few of them at work. The tour runs September 5–7, with September 5 and 6 falling within this weekend’s event lineup.
