I work for the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) Transformation Center, and our office hosted a 7-hour event at the Salem Convention Center on 5/9/17 called the Innovation Cafe. Leading up to the event, our contacts at the hotel were very helpful and prompt in getting back to us about our event needs - including setting up an onsite walk through. During the event, convention center staff was very professional and responsive.<br /> <br /> There were just two minor concerns that we wanted to express: 1) Breakfast was to be set up by 7:30 am, but when we arrived for setup we were told that 8 am was the planned setup time. However, once event staff were made aware of this error, they moved quickly to make sure that breakfast was set up quickly. 2) I think because of the confusion over the start time, an A/V staff person arrived later than we would have liked to confirm setup. For this type of event, it wasn't a big deal, but for larger events (w/ more complex A/V setups) it might have been an issue.<br /> <br /> Outside of that, we were very pleased with our experience using the Salem Convention Center for our event - and will definitely try to host our next event in Salem here.<br /> <br /> Thanks,<br /> Tom

Very convenient with parking at the lovely Grand Hotel Salem. Good meeting space. Wish catered appetizers were not cold when they should have been hot. Lunch entree was excellent but salad seemed wilted. Love the huge windows and light and airy feeling.

The staff worked with us all the way through planning, changing, and carrying out the events of the day. People are still raving about the food. And the venue was accessible and inviting. We will be back next year :)

We held a reception at the convention center for our Credit Union members and the state's Legislators. The staff made everything quick, easy and polished as we prepared for the event. The level of service on the night of the reception never skipped a beat. My association works with a lot of venues for a variety of events. We appreciate that the Salem Convention Center brought a "A+" level of service to our event. We'll be back!

Staff at the convention center were very responsive and attentive to my needs. Had three events in a day and a half and the staff was great. Any needs or requests that i had were quickly and efficiently addressed and filled. Would recommend this location to anyone. Good rooms, food, staff and hotel accommodations. I wish all of the locations I hold the annual conference at were this good.

Beautiful place. We had a 2 day meeting here and every thing was great. The staff was helpful and polite. The food was good and filling, and the place was clean.

A fan in the bathroom to start with I shared a room with some co workers and was so embarrassed I asked the front desk about the fan and was told no there is no fan I asked if they had some spray and was told no was not very impressed with their lack of effort to even offer a solution I will bring my own .....the bed was so uncomfortable and was sore all the next day as well as tired second time staying here and was not very happy this time also 4 grown women shared our room so next time I ask for a couple extra towels I would appreciate it if the request is honored no one in my room showed any interest in taking your towels

The Salem Convention Center is a wonderful venue to host a multi-day conference. The staff goes above and beyond to accomodate your requests, the food is superb and the facilities are top-notch. The only downside is there is limited internet access for AT & T users and the parking can be a challenge, but even those two issues had very little effect on the outcome of our conference. Our attendees walked away pleased and impressed. We look forward to hosting our conference here in future years. <br /><br />

We have held the Salem Health Foundation's annual Donor Appreciation dinner at the Salem Convention Center for many years. Sometime we've had issues with slow/late service; quality of food; parking...but this year, everything for our event was perfect. Everyone commented on how good the food was (our guests could choose between the wild salmon; pork tenderloin or vegetarian pasta). The service was amazing. Not only was it on time and quickly delivered, but our wait staff offered to bring glasses of wine to our guests at their table so they wouldn't have to get up. When we made a last minute addition to add ice team, the staff accommodated us without hesitation. A five-star rating doesn't seem to be high enough. Well done.

We had a business meeting at Salem Convention Center. The team was very helpful in getting everything ready. Food was good, and there were plenty of team members around to answer questions and take care of needs on the fly. Thanks for everything!
