1-Star Review of Restoration 1 of Portland
Let me start with the good. They arrived fairly quickly. About 4 hours after calling and signing all their contracts. From there it went downhill fast! 2 fellows showed up, one worked on the clean up of a sewer failure the 2nd spent the whole time taking photos and documenting. He spent most of his time trying to get me to file an insurance claim. We had about 1/2 inch of water in the master bath from overflow that backed up in the shower. They did the clean up and put out 2 fans and one dehumidifier. All told about 4 hours at the hose day one. That night (3am) I got up and headed to the bathroom to find the dehumidifier was leaking all the water out of it and spilling on the floor. Also they had left the black cord for the fan laying in the doorway and I tripped on it and fell. ( as a side note I had spine surgery 5 days earlier) the next day 2 new fellows The next day 2 new guys showed up, again one worker and one documentation worker. Again the document worker immediately started to push me to file a insurance claim, I told him that he didn’t have to do any documentation and that we had decided to not follow their recommendation to tear up the heated flooring or cut out the bottom of our drywall. For further restoration. He became a bit belligerent and left the house. I asked that they remove the equipment and the young worker fellow did while the documentation fellow sat in his truck. About 2 hours at the house that day. The following day I received a long email from yet another third documentation fellow outlining how I really need to file an insurance claim. I politely declined again, this was not a Major flood situation. Today received ( and paid) a bill for $2087.61. It sure felt like these folks only wanted to get into our insurance policy to get as much as they could from the insurance company. This is a company that I cannot recommend to anyone. (Unless you hate your insurance company)
