Sad times

Not even a “ thank you” for your business after years of 0 claim business with OM. Nothing verbal, no email, not even a “thank you for your payment” on a monthly statement. Seems like the only attempt at gratitude was the non renewal notice, which is as meaningful as “F you, pay your bill”
As far as better service goes, try a touch of gratitude while you destroy hopes of insurability. We had nothing to do with all the wildfires/claims issues leading to all the insurance problems but our guilt by association is totally unfounded and the fact that OM can’t even issue a thank you with non renewal communication causes a truly bad experience in our dealings.
On a positive note…OM is truly welcome for accepting our monthly contribution to hopefully better the insured’s that still exist and might submit future claims for matters that they could not control either.
Homeowners flood insurance claim
Our experience with Sarah McDonough in making our homeowners claim was horrible. It started with her trying to talk me out of making a claim in the first place, threatening that our rates would go up and that insurance is made for catastrophic events. We decided to go ahead anyway since this seemed catastrophic enough to us, and thought this was exactly what homeowners insurance was for. This was our first time ever making a claim after owning a home for over 30 years. Basically she was rude every time I talked to her and made me feel horrible after I submitted our receipts and paperwork for our flood insurance claim (due to a pipe bursting) She accused us of spending more money than she had basically ever seen before (we had to stay at a hotel while our floors were being refinished) and that we had spent way too much money on food. We could have spent much more but we truly just ate like we usually would, and we’re not extravagant. She kept questioning me over and over and after I would explain wouldn’t accept my answer and would question me again. We also stayed at two different hotels, one that was right next to my husbands work during the week and a different one on the weekend, and she made us feel like that was terrible to do (we weren’t aware that this would be a problem) I got to the end of our final conversation feeling horrible and am considering changing insurance companies because of my interactions with her. She also asked me how many times we usually eat dinner out in a week, and when I told her 2-3 times, she then deducted that amount from my receipts because she said we would have been eating out that many times anyway, so that the insurance wouldn’t pay for those meals. Sounded strange to me but by this time I was so upset I just said to do whatever. She did deduct those meals…still don’t know if that is typical? You’d think homeowners insurance is for those awful times in life when you need them (a part of our house flooding) but after dealing with Sarah I guess not…you pay in for 30 years and then are made to feel guilty for using it. So very disappointed. (By the end of the conversation she did finally realize how bad she had made me feel, and apologized saying she had not been feeling well the last few days. I’m a mom and accepted her apology, but what a disaster!)
truck insurance
the under writers are peices of shit
Underwriting support is always very good and responsive.
Coverage and pricing is very good and payment terms
Simply the Best
The adjusters are responsive, helpful and patient. They really go to bat for the policy holder! Clients have all said that the adjuster provides a real status and explains what it is they can expect to occur next and what is needed to get the desired outcome for the claim. Just to name a few of the great ones; Barbara Taylor , Danielle Jaime, Lorelei Mercado and Ted Kunkle have all impressed PIA's clients and myself too.
Awful Claim process
Well I decided to update my review so people know that they do not have to let this company take advantage of you, which is what they tried to do to me. My loss occurred last year on August 27, 2019. Their insured owns a car wash business and their diseased Bradford pear tree fell into our yard and did almost $10,000 of damage, including over $5000 to one of our customer's cars. This insurance company fought me EVERY step of the way. They would tell me they needed something and I would supply it (I even paid an Arborist $300 for a report), and they would tell me it did not work. They never showed any proof that their insured did their minimum duty of care in regards to the tree. I asked the VP of claims (he wanted to talk to me after my previous review after months of being ignored even by the adjuster!) if I took his client to small claims court would they pay then? He said yes. So guess what I had to do to make this awful company do the right thing. I had to take his insured to small claims court! In the judgement, the judge said "It is also significant that the defendant is a commercial business, its representative even testifying that the tree provided shade to employees who gathered under it. The defendant was thus not only under the duty of a reasonable occupant of land but also under a duty to inspect potential workplace dangers affecting its employees." So we won and have received checks for what the judge ordered. We still lost on time and money though. Estimates to fix vehicles are never accurate, and always more once they tear it apart. We only got paid for the estimate and there were a few other things that we did not get paid for, like the Arborist report that Chris Strain wanted me to get and then said his insured could not be held to the same standard as an arborist. I hope their insured finds a new insurance company that does the right thing for them in the future. That's why businesses pay insurance companies. Oregon Mutual must have missed that memo though because a year after the incident, their insured had to go to court to deal with something that should have already been handled. Save yourself a headache and run away before you've paid them a buttload of money and when an accident happens, they don't pay.
Auto Insurance
Claim # 11638208. Had to have my car towed(again) because the fuel pump stopped working. Every thing went great. Eagle Point Towing did a wonderful job. However, not everyone can text. I can receive text msg, but can not send them on my old flip phone, so asking for feed back via text did not work for me. My wife does text, but I do not. So, just wanted you to know that once again, you and EP Towing did a great job!
Best insurance experience
Sarah Mcdonell was precise friendly and accurate! They settled my claim quickly and I felt like I was supported throughout the claim. Thanks so much!

Auto Loss
Oregon Mutual handled our loss quickly and efficiently despite the other party not having information on their insurance carrier or policy. I was very pleased with the help I received and have recommended Oregon Mutual to friends with no complaints.

Auto claim...
Claims adjuster was very professional & handled everything from finding body shop options to rental car options. Very satisfied!
Outstanding service
I experienced what we all hope to avoid, a major car crash in which my vehicle was totaled. From the minute Oregon Mutual answered the phone a mere hours after the wreck they showed great care, concern and efficiency in assuring me it would be alright. The claim process was quick with only a couple days passing between submitting forms, notifying me of the steps in between and ultimately me receiving a close-out check so I could purchase a replacement vehicle and move on with my life. The service representatives I spoke with were extremely courteous, knowledgable and easy to reach when questions arose. My premium may go up because of this incident but given the service I received I will be an Oregon Mutual customer for life!
