Skin cancer on lower eyelid

I developed a small bump on my lower left eyelid late January/early February. Quickly saw primary care doctor. He referred me to Dr. Bingham who I saw one week later. Thought it might be chalazion so treated with an ointment for 10 days. Went back in 2 weeks and it wasn’t gone so the lesion was drained and biopsied. Two weeks later got the shocking news of rare and aggressive skin cancer. Within 3 weeks had surgery at OHSU and am now recovering. Don’t yet know biopsy results. Dr. Bingham and his staff were very efficient and professional. Happy we have him here in Salem.

I had upper eyelid surgery because of the loss of peripheral vision. I truly appreciated all the time that the nurses, anesthesiologist, and doctor spent in explaining and prepping me for the surgery. Surgery went well and no pain following surgery. After two weeks my eyes almost look normal. And regaining my peripheral vision has been amazing.

I started having pressure on my right eye. I got an appointment with Dr. Nearing. He found that I had an eye infection and gave me medication. It did get better but was still not good. I then got right in and saw Dr. Messanger. He found that there was a bigger problem and gave me medication but sent me for a cat scan and blood test. Dr. Messanger was great. He called me twice to see how I was doing, He also sent me to Dr. Bengum for a different type of care. I could not have aked for better care.

Wait time was short. Interview was very detailed and concise. Short wait for doctor interview. He was funny. Option for washing my hair in shower was to shave it like his.

Pre-op visit

All my questions were answered plus some I didn’t think to ask. I look forward to seeing the results of the surgery.

There is nothing special about this "specialty clinic." Quite the opposite, actually.

Dr. Bingham is the worst provider I have ever interacted with. He was arrogant and dismissive, with absolutely abhorrent patient assessment "skills." His version of an "apology" included the statement, "I've been told I don't listen. Just ask my wife." Furthermore, the ancillary staff was equally rude. The woman at the front desk seemed put-out when she had to check me in (...but isn't that your... job?), and his medical assistant had to be repeatedly told the same basic information (medical history, preferred pharmacy, etc.) because he too, was more inclined to listen to his own voice, than that of the patient's. I had two prescriptions ordered: neither were sent in the day of service, as promised. When I called to follow-up the next day, only 1 of 2 were sent in. Shortly after, the office closed early due to the valley fires, so when I had to call yet AGAIN about the remaining prescription, I had to bother the on call physician. Now, after receiving an erroneous bill and speaking with the billing staff, it came out that the initial receptionist didn't input my insurance information correctly. I literally CANNOT. To give credit where credit is due, Dr. Lapour, the on call physician, was absolutely amazing. He was patient, kind, and immediately followed though with his promise to call in my prescription. He is someone that I would recommend, and would feel comfortable managing my care. It is a shame that he is associated with an otherwise unprofessional practice.

Dr Bingham was so nice and patient with me. I was so nervous but the staff and doctor treated me so nicely. I have excellent results from my procedure.

Every person in this office was professional and customer focused. The doctor and assistant were both very understanding of my fear of needles! Follow up care instructions were very clear. I did not have to wait ! I actually started my appointment at the scheduled time.

I went to Dr. Bingham for an assessment of my left eyelid being totally closed. I also reported several other symptoms I had been experiencing recently. I owe a big "thank you" to Dr. Bingham for beginning the process of diagnosis of what turned out to be Myasthenia Gravis. Dr. Bingham ordered labs which I obtained that same day I saw Dr. Bingham. The results of the blood draw/labs were send to my primary health care provider, which along with the development of additional symptoms, resulted in my primary care provider sending me to to our local hospital emergency room which resulted in a week long hospitalization and the resulting diagnosis of Myasthenia Gravis.

Ocuplasty

I was very fearful of having a Ocullopplastic until I met the staff who all so kindly relieved me of any fears I may have had. They explained each procedure before they did it. Then I met Dr. Bingham and again he explained the whole procedure in a kind and easy to understand way. By the time the day came for me to have the surgical procedure I was emotionally ready. All the staff met me and again in a non[huriried way explained each procedure and before I knew it, It was over. I was ready to go home and I knew what to expect. BR. Bingham and staff had me know they would be available If I found I had questions while I was home, When it was neccary to have my stithes removed, again I had some fears but again staff calmed my fears and it was all over and I was sent home with instructions that would be nec Thena Bamber

Brow/lid surgery

Dr. Bingham performed brow/lid surgery on me, with great results. 3 days after stitch removal I was in a bicycle accident resulting in dehiscence of the entire right brow incision. Dr. Bingham was out of town, but I was seen the next morning and the incision was closed nicely by Dr. Gurdian. Everyone has been exceptionally helpful , and this clinic has provided nothing but great care. I highly recommend them.
