Excellent Work and Workers
We appreciate the professionalism of all those we dealt with at Western. David was responsive, gave us a detailed estimate, explained the process, and was there to see the start of the project, which went according to plan and left us with an expertly repaired concrete walkway foundation on our hillside house. In addition to rebuilding the walkway and its supporting structure, the crew helped set up some terracing on the hillside for us to complete to prevent further erosion as well. Very high quality work overall, and we would certainly contract with Western again and will recommend their services.

Crack repair
I would have given 5 stars, but it hasn't rained yet. So, I can't know if the repair worked. In all other respects, the service was great & I'm certain that the repair will be fine, too. After all, there is that guarantee. :-)

The repairman was excellent and a pleasure to have in the house.
Both went beyond the plan to insure the work was done right and that I was satisfied.
When we discovered an additional problem the price increase was reasonable.

I will recommend your company to anyone that might be interested. I have already told my realtor (who is still involved because of some unexpected concerns that have arisen with the house) and will definitely tell my insurance agent.
At this time, because of having to deal with unexpected problems with the house, I will not be able to have the retrofit done. If I do choose to do it later, I will contact you.

Great communication and timely help
I called David and he was so good about getting back to me so quickly. We also thought we would have to wait until September for my client's repair and it worked out that they did and completed the job in July! I so appreciate the confirmation email that was sent and the follow up that it was completed. I highly recommend Western Construction, their reputation among Realtors in Portland is definitely 5 stars!
Some disappointments
1. Cleaned up better. Outside was OK, inside you missed a lot of sawdust and drill dust.
2. Set the protruding nails on the cripple wall sheathing. This need was pointed out while the technicians were still on the job site, but was not done.
3. Give me half a chance to send the balance of payment before sending out a dunning e-mail. I received the final invoice on a Tuesday, sent a check on Wednesday (the next day), and was called out for not paying on Friday. Honestly, is that any way to treat a customer?
Totally satisfied
David was very good about listening to my concerns and advising based on his expertise. I do suggest that he takes the time to be more detailed about the agreement when writing the contract. He understood when I explained that I was getting the windows installed first and that it would be a few months before I could afford the basement repair. I appreciated David rescheduling his time to come by to address some additional issues that had incurred with the window installation. He was very fair about the additional cost and the fact that it was going to take an additional half day into his company's busy calendar.
I appreciated that when I called to reserve dates on the calendar that they were still there when I called back a few months later. We reconfirmed deposit needed to start the project.
John was EXCELLENT in his detailed work. He was very diligent considering he was working alone. You would have thought he was part of the "company family" how he utilized his time. When I had questions he was very thorough in explaining to me. Having had my own company with employees in the past, I was impressed when he told me that he had only been working for WCS for one year. I certainly thought he performed like a journeyman foreman. The two days that John had assistance, he still performed as the "in charge" person. Not to say that the other two men weren't fine.
Professional and efficient
We had a crew out at our house for the better part of two days completing a seismic retrofit on our 1970s-era home. We were working from home and had kids and pets in and out of the house the whole time. The crew was professional, courteous and efficient. Even though they had to cross through the house repeatedly they were very tidy and left no mess. The process was loud but bearable, and I feel much better now knowing that my home is much less likely to collapse and/or slide off the foundation when the "big one" hits the Northwest. The team that was here was great.
Great Job
Draining my gutters to the street was done very quickly and efficeintly .I would definitly recommend Justin and his crew to anyone needing work done. I would, however, recommend that they use a generator when electricity is needed to power their tools. Overall I would say the job was very professional, and the price was fair.
WONDERFUL!!
I was very pleased with the process from beginning to end. From bid to completion of work they were excellent. They are clean, polite and show up as promised. The work was completed in about 2 hours. I can highly recommend.

I don't remember all of the names of the guys on the project, but everyone was friendly, professional, very respectful, and boy did they clean up after themselves! They did a fairly simple french drain and sump pump installation, with lots of digging. I couldn't believe it when I saw them filling buckets with dirt and putting them in their truck to remove. It remains to be seen if the drainage solution works--have to wait until the rains start, but I could not be happier with the job this crew did. Tyler returned a couple of days later to inspect the job. If I had any complaint it would be the long wait from initial contact to the actual job, but I know we had a very rainy winter and I'm sure they were slammed. Just glad we got it done! I will definitely use them again.

Tyler provided a very good explanation of what needed to be done and why, the equipment to be used and the estimated time needed to do the retrofit. The crew was efficient and courteous. Due to the layout of the floor joists and other unexpected factors, the work scope needed to be changed slightly and the bill adjusted. Tyler was very good to work with to include those changes and the adjustment. Good work, and highly recommended.

Tyler gave my client a reasonable bid for her foudation repair and scheduled the job to be completed quickly so her home could close on time. This is a great company and I will continue to refer my clients to them.
Excellent work and service
Western Construction Services provided us with an affordable drainage solution for a long, sloping driveway toward our house that was filling our crawlspace with water during strong rains. The vapor barrier was covered with mud and water and the insulation was soggy and disgusting. The crew dug a perimeter trench with basin and sump pump into our downspouts, removed the old vapor barrier and insulation, installed new insulation and vapor barrier, and dug a basin and sump pump at the bottom of the driveway. We are now experiencing heavy spring rains and the crawlspace is dry as a bone. Thanks, guys!
True Professionals, Excellent Crews, Outstanding Work
I have worked with WCS on a previouse big basement waterproofing job and was very pleased with the execution of that job. When I decided to proceed with a pretty big earthquake retrofit investment in my basement involving C-Channel Steel Beams around the perimeter, I wanted a company that I trusted and which had been in business for a long time. A proven track record. I am very impressed with the knowledge of the project managers, the different options they present, the helpful advice they give for others steps I can do on my own to make the house safer and the high quality of the crews that did the work. I have already recomended WCS to a neighbor for her retrofit work.
