I've been in the VA health care for 20 years and have had 5 major surgeries with great success in all. I've never had a problem scheduling appointments and have been treated with excellent care. If it's so terrible I can't figure why a person would go there for health care? I don't think anyone is required to use the system. Keep up the good care for us VA doctors and nurses please. Thanks to you all!
This review is based on my own experiences with this VA clinic in the pass several years.
Pros:
1) The doctors and nurses are wonderful
2) Clean clinic
3) Free Eye exam & glasses
Cons:
1) Front desk staff is a “hit or miss” regarding informations. DON’T take someone’s words for it, DO YOUR RESEARCH!
Examples:
a) I was told by the receptionist that there’s a “limit” to the amount of time I’m allow to go to the urgent care. CORRECTION: The VA website “community care” clearly states that there is NO LIMIT for the amount of time a vet can be seen (Copay can apply base on priority group).
b) I had questions regards to who can reimburse me for the out of pocket in-network prescription medication by the urgent care. The first time I called, I was told that I was NOT eligible for prescription medication.
CORRECTION: Any medication prescribe by the urgent care under 14 days is covered by in-network pharmacy and seek reimbursement with the nearest VA facility. Therefore, I went with my gut instinct and called a few days later. A male receptionist told me to just bring in the receipt or fax them for reimbursement.
I’m happy he was able to help me out but I wish that I had that information the first time around.
Overall, this is nice clinic and the wait time is not that long.
