Very friendly towards beginners. Highly recommend for casual play but they have good players that (currently) provide free coaching first Monday of each month. Some nights it can get a little busy.

The WTTC is a place where beginning players can find coaching, and experienced players can find competition. They even rent the place out for group events like a table tennis birthday party or an fun office "after work" event. The Willamette Table Tennis Club is one of the best things about living in Salem. I don't think any other city in the Pacific Northwest can boast of a dedicated table tennis club with such large square footage, so many table, a practice robot, excellent lighting, and a playing fee of less than $5.00 per visit. I recommend this club as a "must play" for all table tennis enthusiasts, from novice to expert.
