The Chicken Shanty

The opening was super busy! The food was decent, it would definitely have tasted better had we ate at the location when it was hot and crispy. The downside to eating at the restaurant is that there isn’t a lot of place to sit. We waited pretty close to an hour from place of order to receipt of order. The employees while friendly seemed like they had no idea what was going on. To be expected when a place first opens, but I’m surprised there wasn’t a lead or manager that could have been more helpful. When the hype goes down, it will be worth while to go back and see if things get better.

I had the coconut chicken and it was crispy and tender in all the best ways! There are so many options for sauces it'll take forever to try them all but I'm really looking forward to the excuse to come back! P.s. try the prickly pear lemonade, yum!

Tried this for lunch/they have been open only a week. We ordered the chicken tender baskets which come with fries and coleslaw. The chicken was very good-cooked just right. Fries were better than average, nice and crispy without being dried out. The coleslaw was very fresh. There are many choices for sauces- we would not choose the same ones next time, (peanut, sweet chili sriracha, voodoo). The sauces were not terrible-they just were not our favorite. Many others to choose from. Good value for the quantity that you receive. Would definitely go back again.
