Stonewall Homes has been wonderful to us from start to finish. We have been in our home around 6 months and they still keep up with any issues or questions we have. Pete is very honest and had great contractors who just wanted us to be happy with their work and our build. The home turned out very beautiful and they pointed us in the direction of the lot of our dreams. Every morning I wake up to a beautiful view and home I love. I would recommend Stonewall to anyone building a home (and have).
Top 5 reasons you should stop your search and build with Stonewall
1. Pete Jackson and his team are men/women of integrity and ethics. We knew many of them prior to building and their character is rare in the building business. Pete is respected by other builders and contractors and everybody we talked to had wonderful things to say. We have had over 9 people we know personally who have built with him and every single one said they’d build with him again in a heartbeat.
2. We almost went with another builder who is cost plus (thought we’d save money) and quickly realized that wasn’t the most secure route so thankfully we were able to get out of the contact. Our neighbors/friends went with another cost plus builder and ended up in legal issues with them and wanted to switch to stonewall but at that time was in too deep with legal fees that they couldn’t afford to use him. Cost plus is risky and by the time you’re finished (they don’t take into account everything you really want) you’ll be paying the same or even more than what you would have with a set price like Stonewall gives. If you do go with cost plus my advice is do your homework and research, look ho the builder on social media, use a realtor to represent you, get every single thing in writing and provide pictures in the bid and have the builder sign that that is what they are bidding.
3. We are very picky people (borderline ocd on certain things) and very indecisive and before we broke ground life kept pushing the build back and Pete and his team were very professional and patient the entire time. We changed a lot of things from the plan, as well, and Pete rolled with it all, and even though no house is perfect, he was graciously willing to appease our requests. He was very professional the entire build and our happiness was his main priority. If something was done wrong or we ended up not liking it he made sure it was fixed. Since he has a great relationship with his contractors they are willing to go the extra mile for him. We also built during Covid and had crazy price increases and extreme weather and shortages on everything. He was extremely gracious the entire time when I would stress text him (we had a surprise baby on the way so I’ll blame hormones) and he remained professional and never made me feel like he was annoyed, even though I know he had to be. ;)
4. Stonewall is very knowledgeable in the trades and they have a lot of great suggestions and recommendations that we would have never thought of to help save money, but also keep quality.
5. Stonewall builds quality homes. Pete doesn’t cut corners and he will let you know that if you want something that maybe won’t last. Pete prides himself in the homes he builds, for good reason, and we are very blessed to have a stonewall home as our forever home. We used inheritance from my dad’s passing to help us build this home and we have peace of mind that our money was invested well in a quality home that will last generations.
There is a level of peace that no dollar can amount to that comes with building with someone who you know is ethical inside and outside of work, has good character and a good moral compass as a guide. That is very hard to find, as we found out during this process and interviewing other builders.

I know we probably weren’t the easiest build and we are thankful you guys stuck with us during the crazy times we were in with everything going on in the world, the weather and in our personal lives. We love our home and couldn’t have imagined building with anyone else.
