Stones River National Battlefield

We had a great experience here. Felt like we lived through the war when the muskets were fired numerous times. Beautiful place to see and feel the historic significance first hand. Facility was well maintained. Parking was adequate and crowds were entertained and pleased to be there. Entry is FREE.

I really loved walking the Boundary Trail, which has a variety of surfaces with some grass so bring your bug spray. I saw lots of butterflies, wild flowers & birds. Can’t wait to go on the other side!

Really great national historic site with a lot of intentionality put into capturing the history and events that took place. A few monuments that you were able to go see (accessible by walking) definitely add to the experience. This is a park that enables you to stop by on a day trip to Murfreesboro and is generally accessible by car. There’s pretty great biking infrastructure, and a visitor center that allows visitors to walk through a chronological record of “Hell’s Half Acre”
