Pamela is inspiring in the heart and passion she has put into her work. She is addressing an issue that has long been present in our society but has yet to receive acknowledgement. Going above and beyond just the acknowledgment that many turn away from, Pamela is offering a place and a person to turn towards for physicians who need sustenance and also encouragement to think outside the box of the traditional employed clinics that value productivity over human connection. Pamela has been working with physicians struggling with suicide for many years and also bringing it to the attention of the general public in a way that has never been done before she started this work. Her work has inspired doctors to speak out about their own struggles and given them a chance to improve their lives and find meaning in medicine again. Her passion for this work is obvious in the time and effort she puts in with each person she tries to help. She continues to do this work and has likely helped so many that she is not even aware of. I met Pamela when I almost dropped out of medical school to become an Alaskan tour guide. Her friendship has changed my life to this day. I had the common idealistic premed dream of serving the world through a highest calling in medicine. For much of my youth, that large purpose brightened my world and those around me. When I started medical school, I felt like I crashed into a brick wall. The realities of the field quickly squashed my dreams from all those years. I couldn't see how to be the healer I was meant to be. Then I met Pamela at her transformative Oregon retreat. I left feeling radiant, being truly heard and seen. I left with a clear vision. Since then, I have created a life of many high callings. Pamela's advanced strategy business course was the foundation for my small OMT/lifestyle medicine clinic after residency. I'm riding a creative swell - educating through online nutrition videos, writing health articles, and teaching classes. I prevent heart disease in women, which serves as my mother's legacy as she passed away from a heart attack. I spend much time in the mountains feeling profound awe. I'm a forthcoming author of a book of poetry. I have grown whole, into a wise compassionate woman. I live a peaceful and fulfilled life. Thank you Pamela from the bottom of my heart.
