what?

I began my PVA membership years ago in AZ then to OH then to CA and now ID/Oregon. I am disappointed that I am in a state with so few PVA members because I never see anyone from the Oregon chapter. I get mail asking me to vote on officers I have never seen and do not know. I don't vote. I can not afford to drive to Oregon just to visit. I have no interest in sports or fishing. So, I just work in my shop restoring old John Deere lawn and garden tractors. It keeps me busy and out of trouble, most of the time. I know occasionally the officers from the Oregon chapter come to Boise but I never am notified that they will be or are in Boise but I think they should talk to me once in a while. I didn't want to do this survey but the emails are persistent. Have a good day. Don Wyatt

    Excellent

    I love the fishing trips, meeting new and old friends getting together for a fun filled fishing trip and sitting around at the dock eating crab while waiting for crabs to be bagged up, then we say our good byes until the next trip.

    Borrowed Equipment

    Five star rating formy dealings with PVA!

    PVA has been a tremendous help in getting accepted into the VA health program and cutting through some of the red tape as it comes along. I have expierenced dealings with a wonderful staff in all my dealings with PVA. Also I was able to get a good powerchair from the Salem office.

    GREAT service!

    I was injured in 1982 (T-12 & L-3, both complete). I have spent time in PDX VA & Seattle VA hospitals. While at the PDX VA, I had local family and friends to visit with. Being away from home in Seattle is a needed, yet lonely experience, There are other patients to talk with, but only on a surface level. Almost always the OPVA has a representative spend some time with patients at the Seattle VA. I may not have exhibited the proper level of appreciation for these visits. Let me now say a big "Thank you" to OPVA and it's Hospital Liaison representative(s). Those 'visits' made a huge difference in my healing process. <br /> <br /> When one is laying in bed alone and left to his own devices, one's mind has nothing to do but explore a variety of scenarios some of which are awful, at least that's what mine did. With no family or friends to talk with, very unhealthy, devastating things come to mind as reasonable and very do-able. I'm not a fuzzy, warm kind of guy but having someone to chat with redirected my dark thoughts from those actions to more regular thoughts. And, I'm here to at attest to the value of those conversations. I might not have been here to do so if left to my darker thoughts.<br /> <br /> Again, Thank You!
