We visited on opening day. The shop was fairly busy when we arrived, but staff was friendly and efficient. Music played into the street, and while there is no inside "dining" it felt like a fun place to gather/be. There are a lot of flavors to choose from. Servings were generous...and delicious. My kids are thrilled to have shaved ice in West Salem! I can see this being the perfect stop after Thursday market and imagine we'll visit all too often.
Line management is going to be an issue. Maybe some signs or rope barriers would be good. Any possibility of getting the parking space right in front of the store for seating, etc like they do in Portland? Not sure if West Salem allows that but it would be a good thing for safety.
We loved our ice cream - my granddaughter saw her chocolate chip/strawberry ice cream sandwich and freaked out! So happy you have Dole Whip and delicious shave ice.
