Ohana Surf Project

We made reservations for a one-on-one surf lesson for our daughter, Sovay, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. Sophie picked us up from our hotel right on time and greeted us with a warm, friendly smile. When we arrived at the shop, Celeste and Jake were absolutely amazing. They answered all of our questions and made us feel comfortable and welcome from the start. After watching the training videos, we took the bus to the beach and were ready for the adventure. Sovay’s instructor, Mark, was fantastic. I truly can’t say enough good things about him. He was patient, encouraging, knowledgeable, and made sure Sovay felt confident in the water. Within just a few minutes of instruction, she was surfing! Mark stayed with her the entire time, and whenever he wasn’t right beside her, another staff member was there to help and encourage her. A special thank you to Sophie, Asanna, Matt, Calvin, Mark, Celeste, and Jake for making this such a wonderful and memorable experience for our daughter. Seeing Sovay out on the waves and having so much fun is a memory our family will cherish forever. Thank you again to everyone who works there for your professionalism, kindness, and dedication. You helped make our first surfing experience in Hawaii absolutely unforgettable. We highly recommend you to anyone looking to learn how to surf! ??????

We signed our two boys (9 and 7) up for surf lessons with Pete and Luke, and the whole morning was perfect. Both instructors were patient, encouraging, and seriously focused on safety, which immediately put us at ease, and on top of that they were a ton of fun. Our kids adored them. The part that amazed us was how quickly the boys were actually standing up and surfing. Pete and Luke really know how to teach kids, and both of mine were riding waves with huge smiles almost right away. They had the time of their lives. Make sure you spring for the photo/video package. It is absolutely worth the value, and we came home with footage of the boys catching their very first waves that we will treasure for years. Zero complaints. We recommend Ohana Surf Project 100%, and if you can ask for Pete and Luke, do it. Mahalo to the entire team for a morning we won't forget!

What a great experience our family had with Ohana Surf Project. We booked the 2hr family lesson. The kids were 10 and 12. Our kids are confident swimmers and this session fit us perfectly. We also picked up the picture package and it was soooooo worth it. The staff were amazing right from the start and the 4 of us all had an amazing session. While the waves aren't what you would picture surfing, they are the perfect bunny hill in the water. All four of us were able to get up and get our feet under us. I had some bad habits but the instructors were so great in helping me get things right and I caught my share of waves as well. Everyone was willing to answer my questions while out on the water, I was curious how to read waves, and other technical things on the sport, you know the DAD type stuff. The kids were just ripping and having a great time. The area of Waikiki was perfect. Every morning there were area's that had a lot of surfers, and we were not crowded at all. Lots of waves to ride so our 2hr family session was a lot of time. I really can't speak enough about how awesome the team was. It really complimented the session, and had everyone walking away with smiles on our faces, and wanting more. I would 100% book again with Ohana and recommend them to families that want to learn and catch some waves. Mahalo
