Johan Vineyards

Hands down the best winery experience I've had in Oregon. We learned a ton about how they are using the land and nature to make sustainable wines. Everything we tasted was delicious. The staff is so enthusiastic about what they're doing, and have immense joy in their work. I never join the wine club at these places, and I immediately signed up for theirs.

Had such a great experience in the tasting room with Amanda who is so knowledgeable about wine and the property, and also a really fun host! Definitely go for a walk around to see the property and the animals. Can’t wait to come back for their events!

If you ask me, Johan Vineyards has some of the best wine in the valley! It is 100% biodynamic, and estate grown, and they have some really creative varietals. In fact, lots of wineries in the area use their grapes b/c the Van Duzer Corridor gets a lot of wind and produces incredible flavor! All their wine is small batch and made with a lot of care. The service is super personable, and the views are dreamy. If you’re looking for a stuffy, grandiose tasting room, with a large-scale restaurant operation, where you have to dress up to fit in, this isn’t it. If you want a relaxing homey environment with a bit of backyard magic, come here. They have sheep and chickens roaming the pasture and their small-batch pizza operation uses a sourdough cultured from their wine and home-grown farm veggies! Plus, Anna’s playlists—as thoughtful as her table service—always set the mood just right.
