*I'm writing this 3 months after my area rug was cleaned and the mildewy smell it had in it is definitely gone for good! In 2018, my vintage handmade 6 x 9 Turkish rug sustained damage from Hurricane Michael. A previous company tried to get the mildew smell out and could not. When I got it back from Hadeed-Mercer the smell was gone and the colors were so bright! Excellent company communication. James and Tyler picked up the rug in January 2026. They arrived on time and were very polite. I went with their recommendations to get an extra neutralizing soak and get a rug pad. A week later another set of nice men returned the rug and set it in the room I wanted. Totally pleased with the results!
