Frida’s Mexican Kitchen & Bar

We really enjoyed this place. Food was delicious & the drinks were amazing. Prices were about on par with what you’d get at a similar style Mexican restaurant in the area. Service was great- we were seated quickly & chips/salsa followed promptly. Our server was quick to take our order & followed up to see if we needed anything a few times after. I got the Oscar’s special & it was a very good sized portion. Three big pieces of skirt steak & several good sized shrimps. My only complaint is that I was only served 3 tortillas with my meal. I had to ask for several more. My wife got the Quesabirria tacos. She said hers were the best she’s had in the area. Good sized portions with plenty of sides. Our drinks were both quite good & quite strong. The restaurant was pretty busy for a Monday afternoon. We got there around 3:30 & I was shocked with how many people were in the restaurant already. Parking did seem to be a bit of a problem- when we got here, there were only a few spots open. By the time we left, several people were unable to find parking. Might be a problem on a more busy night. Overall we liked it & will be back.

My family and I have been to Frida’s 3 times since their grand opening every time we have had great food, drinks, hospitable and attentive staff service. They are a New Mexican restaurant in the south Salem area which has raised the bar and standard for Mexican restaurants across Salem. They do have other successful Mexican restaurants. All of the presentations/portions of food and drinks were excellent. The menus are great I have read other peoples negative reviews, which are just ridiculous. You have to be a person open to good food and atmosphere and yes they are a very busy restaurant, which means people love their food. So be patient and enjoy.

What a great new addition to the Salem food scene. The lunch menu has some great deals and offerings including the fajitas. They have some great salsa including a hotter avocado and a spicier habanero salsa. We’re looking forward to coming back often!
