On both jobs Dan went out of his way to work with our neighbors on there concerns about the water affecting them to the extent of doing some drainage work for them for no cost. His attitude seems to be to get the job done to the owners satisfaction sometimes at his own expense. On our jobs he had every opportunity to cheapen the job which we would never have know about or used inferior materials which he did not.. Dan worked tirelessly terracing our hill, laying a dry river bed with drainage, building a bridge,designing the slate water fountain and regrading our lawn. This year he and his talented son, Kris, designed and built an amazing garden pavilion for us. Their creativity and expertise has turned our back yard into a beautiful, peaceful place that we thoroughly enjoy. We never hesitate to call them for any outdoor project. We not only think of them as gifted professionals who listen to our ideas, we consider them our friends.
We were referred to Dan by our neighbor's who used him for their yard a few years back. They spoke so highly of him and have a beautiful yard, so we knew we needing to give him a call! Dan and crew did an amazing job re-doing our yard. I keep finding myself staring out the window admiring how beautiful it turned out! They terraced our back hill with boulders, solved our drainage problems, regraded the yard, put in a new sprinkler/drip system, laid new lawn, planted beautiful tree's and plants, and built a fence. We loved that Dan included us in the decision making process through the entire project which included taking us with him to select the plants and trees. He was excellent at interacting, explaining things, and suggesting great options for certain areas of the yard, that we had not previously even considered. He is very personable and easy to work with. He even let our 3 year old daughter ride on the excavator with him one day. We also appreciated that the price he quotes you is the price he sticks too. There was no nickel and diming of extra charges or increases along the way. They also were very good at working on our project every day all the way thru completion. They didn't drag out the process or split their time amongst various clients - they were here every day until it was done! We highly recommend Farwest Garden's for your landscaping needs.
As I was looking for a garden designer, I called Farwest Gardens and left a message for the man who spoke of his staff as "out chasing the butterflies and gathering the posies." I liked the picture he painted with words. Dan Fahndrich called and was pretty much as he sounded, casual and friendly, the sort of man who might have chased butterflies. When we met he listened carefully and then described just the sort of garden I had in mind. I hired him and found that his crew was on time and hard-working. It took some time to create my dream and the results were worth waiting for. Our yard in the summer is magnificent. The beds of flowers are glorious. If I have seen another plant I want, Dan and I discuss it and the space I have in mind to plant it. (I'm running out of spaces to plant!) Dan has become a friend to us and we are richer because of that. I highly recommend Dan Fahndrich and Farwest Gardens to anyone who wants an interesting and beautiful garden.
