El Maguey Mexican Restaurant

The wait staff was very observant when it came to staying on top of our refills, and other needs . Food came out rather fast. The food was great .. My daughter and I split chicken fajitas. The cooking staff did mess up on our fajitas we asked for no onions but still ended up with them. I still got 4 stars because all other dishes were to perfection. The wait staff was perfect. My son got shrimp nachos. He really liked those. Most of the table ended up getting a form of nachos and they were every enjoyed by all. This has to be one of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever seen . Very colorful, the chairs and the walls were caved with 3D images of wildlife, and scenery. I hope we can come back again one day. We were a group of 7 people

Went in for lunch. Immediately recognized and seated. Drink and food orders taken and delivered expeditiously. Food was great..(bacon was chewy so ask for it crispy.. I'll remember when I return, dish was otherwise tasty) The portions were decent and there was plenty left to take home.

To be honest, this isn’t my favorite location in the chain. While the food can be good, my experiences with the service have been consistently underwhelming. On one visit, I had a rather rude server, and during another, a different server noticed an issue with my food but simply commented, “Oh wow, look at that,” without offering any help, napkins, or follow-up—which felt dismissive. I've been to two El Maguey locations, and unfortunately, the service at both has been disappointing at times. At one, we were simply ignored but that was ODD for that location. But at this location, even when my food was served in a noticeably off or unappetizing way, the lack of engagement from staff left a poor impression—especially during a return visit when we ordered both food and drinks and still didn’t receive attentive service which was very different from their other location. That said, the food itself is generally tasty, the happy hour deals are solid, and wait times haven’t been an issue. I just wish the service matched the quality of the menu. I just know at this location we try and do carry out only and come prepared to doctor the food after pickup.
