Dance Vision Studios McKinney

My fiancé and I were toying with the idea of getting some professional tips for our wedding’s first dance. We found Dance Vision online and it was close by our home! They have several locations in the DFW area. Neither of us are dancers so we thought it would be a fun time to try something new! For $50 (total), both my fiancé and I received two 30-minute private dance lessons with an instructor. Based on the song we chose, the Dance Studio came up with the dance. The dance studio is very clean and bright. The dance floor is located within one big room. You share the dance floor with different groups (each private lessons going on). The instructors will work with you both directly since these are private classes, but you are not in the studio alone. Don’t be shy! I’m not sure if they offer group leases other than the group lessons on the calendar that you can join in on with your purchase of private lessons! I didn’t get a straight answer tbh! Now onto the meat of the experience! For our first session, our instructor was Tre. He was so much fun! He made the lesson super digestible and easy to follow. We had a lot of fun making mistakes along the way, but ultimately was able to pick up the basics by the end of the 30 min session! For our second session, our instructor was Cristina. She was very nice, and added a little extra spunk to our dance routine to make it look more natural, and exciting. By the end of our second 30 minute lesson, we were able to get down the basics of the routine to practice from home. At the end of each lesson the instructors will sit down with you and recap what you’ve learned. They are truly passionate about dancing, caring, and patient! Depending on your dance skills/level, the instructors will map out a number of set lessons for you prior to your wedding. This can look very different from person to person/couple to couple. They recommended 20 lessons for us (a couple private classes per week), but we ultimately decided we didn’t have that much time between work and other commitments to dedicate for a 1 min dance. Additionally, the twenty ~45 min lessons came out to be ~$2K, and we felt like that money could have been used elsewhere in our lives at the moment. However, in addition to paying for the private classes, your tuition will include group dance lessons that you can attend for free. We had a great time, and appreciated the time and effort each instructor gave us! Parking is free, and there’s a large lot wrapped around the building.

My fiancee and I called here for some last-minute dance lessons before our wedding. We scheduled a lesson for a few hours later. When we arrived, Dance Vision demonstrated a beautiful dance they choreographed for the song we chose. We had zero prior dancing experience. Casey was our instructor, and she was amazing! She took us from a nervous wreck to confident and excited to show everyone our first dance. The whole experience was wonderful and we had a blast! Can't recommend it enough!

I purchased a small package of couples dance lessons for my wife for Valentine’s Day 2022. Here we are, almost a year later, and I can’t believe what an amazing gift it’s ended up being for us both. Sure, it was clunky and nervy at first, learning the basics together, and each of us learning to either lead or be led. But as the lessons progressed, the Dance Vision McKinney team of Tara, Trey, Christina, and Anna just kept encouraging us, and gently building us up. The patience and professionalism they’ve shown us each step, and misstep, along the way, can’t really be adequately stated in this space. All I can say is that they are all wonderful folks, truly, whom my wife and I consider not just as our stellar dance instructors, but as members of our extended family - yeah, our dance family. As I write this, I’m proud to say my wife and I can hold our own with Salsa, Rumba, Tango, Two-Step, Cha-Cha, Push-Pull, and we’re working on the Waltz! If you’d have told me 10 months ago we would be able to dance the night away, and look darn good doing it, I’d never have believed it. And, as a not so small side-bonus, we’ve never been closer as a couple. There’s just something about learning to dance with my soulmate that reignites that spark and makes us both feel like crazy teenagers, in all the best ways. Guys, if you want to get her a gift she’ll love her whole life, get you both dance lessons!
