Congdon's Doughnuts

Oh this place! They make breakfast happen no matter what. All thru covid and now with staffing shortages the changes they made have been remarkable ! The line was long as usual but they are so efficient it worked. We had to take out but this time we had the option of eating outside on the new gorgeous patio or in their dining room with no waitstaff. The breakfast bowls are such a great idea and very large and delicious. The coffee choices are aplenty and aromatic! The donuts are thankfully still the same fluffy yummy goodness they have always been! Very much like Kanes here in MA!

Stayed in Wells over the weekend and went for the first time. I got there right when they opened and there was a line 30 people deep. I knew that was a good sign. The line moved fast, the employees were so nice. The doughnuts.....OMG. The best I've ever had. I will be back soon, will make a special trip on a Sunday morning from MA. My dog LOVED his treat too.

We drove up from Boston this weekend just to try this place out. I haven’t had doughnuts this good since I was a kid. They instantly brought me back to childhood memories of having doughnuts with my grandparents. The fritters are exactly as they should be (why do other places insist on using pie filling these days?), the chocolate crunch was delicious, and the Bavarian creme? The Bavarian creme was the best doughnut I’ve had in decades… maybe even my whole life. We can’t wait to come back!
