He leaves no readily accessible stone unturned. We used him to inspect a 180 year old historic home in downtown Lexington. We expected a lengthy list, but wanted to go into our purchase eyes wide open. His report was helpful in understanding and prioritizing repairs that were needed prior to and after closing. His in-depth knowledge of older homes is exactly what we wanted to gain by using his services. He is priced competitively for the amount of detail you will get and you can expect a report in a timely manner. John graciously offers to answer questions you might have during the inspection and after the generation of a report. From new builds to homes that are older, I would strongly recommend utilizing his services. It is a small price to pay when considering a property.

I cannot recommend John Bain enough. I'm in the process of purchasing my first house and John did a great job with his building inspection. Not only did he write an incredibly thorough report which included photographs documenting everything he saw but he also took the time when he was finished to meet with me personally and go over the photographs and explain them to me. I'm pretty familiar with houses and anything I wasn't familiar with he answered all my questions. Very nice guy and reasonable prices!

He is highly experienced, honest, meticulous and very easy to work with... for our purchase he uncovered over 60 issues that would have cost us thousands of dollars to repair. He really took his time with us and provided a thorough explanation as well as a detailed report. We were fortunate that the seller agreed to take care of the vast majority of the items, but without John's help those hidden problems would have made our first few months in the new home a nightmare.
