Aurora City Building Permits

I rarely have good things to say about any of the local building departments and I almost never leave reviews but Aurora's Building Department is actually pleasant to work with and thought that they should know what a good job they are doing. They are one of the only building departments around town that actually answers the phone and does so in a polite and helpful manner. When no one is available to answer they typically call back quickly. The inspectors have been helpful and it is nice that they will actually give you a call to let you know that they are on their way to the job. Thanks for setting the bar for other building departments. The only reason for the 4 stars is that the website can be challenging to work with.

Dealing with Aurora's Building Department was perfect from start to finish. Everyone, from the office to the inspectors, has been extremely helpful, pleasant, and friendly. This department is the model for not only government services, but any company.

Nobody “enjoys” spending money on required building permits but the staff here make it less painful. They are very efficient, processing my recent permit application very quickly. I was even able to schedule an inspection for the day after paying my fees. Thanks guys!!
