I joined Ascent fitness two years ago after participating in CrossFit and other structured workouts at local gyms. I was immediately impressed with Scott’s programming and knowledge of modifying exercises to accommodate ailments. The workouts are challenging. I feel the workouts after (always) but they are sustainable in the respect that members are all ages, shapes, and fitness levels. In June 2023, I increased my membership to include personal coaching and accountability from Scott. I have lost 30lbs and have gained more strength, muscle, and endurance at 50 than I have had in decades. I highly recommend Ascent Fitness, you get what you pay for!!!

Best gym in Albany. You'll work with professional trainers to reach your goals and receive whatever level of support you want or need. You can get group classes, nutrition coaching, one-on-one training, or a combination of everything. Many of the offerings are given in a group setting, but the training is geared directly to your capabilities. Scott does a great job of tailoring your workout to your individual needs and goals. You are often working with others and all sharing in very similar tasks performed to your level of comfort and fitness. Highly encouraged for those who are rehabilitating and may need help choosing appropriate exercises or for those who are new to gym culture and just want to be more active and fit. The personal guidance you'll receive here will last a life time. If you're someone who enjoys being a faceless member of a crowd, this gym isn't for you. Here, you'll be treated like an individual and encouraged by others. Membership here isn't something you have, it's something you DO.
