Well my son, his Chief, and I went here on our way back to Ft. Hood. I must say it started off with the lady working the pit area asking if we wanted to see and hear how they cook their meats. I didn’t get her name, but she was incredibly knowledgeable and did a fantastic job. Then we got in line, and the folks serving up food were really helpful as we were ordering almost everything, and finally we sat down to eat. A man Oscar ( the hospitality guy) asked how did we like the service, then came back to check on us to see how we liked the food. He was such an awesome guy, and chatting with all the customers to make sure they were happy, as well as enjoying their meal choices. We talked for a few minutes and I did comment that if we were at a certain BBQ competitor’s the pinto beans are free and you can eat as much as you want. We spent plenty (including me buying a ballcap to give them free advertisement) and I am here to say the food was just incredible. The brisket just melted in your mouth, the beef rib had so much meat that it could’ve been a meal by itself, the pork ribs and sausage had such a great flavor, and all the fixins. We had enough food to take plates with us after we finished eating. I would definitely recommend anyone going through Waco, Tx thinking about a place to eat should go to Terry Black’s for lunch or dinner, or just to get something to take with them somewhere. I will return again, and hopefully Oscar will still be greeting folks, checking on them, and making sure customers are happy. It’s great to watch him how he is just the right guy to talk with the customers. I live about 90 minutes north of Waco, so it will be a good drive with friends for a great meal. Mr. Terry Black we need to talk about the cost of them beans, they are good, but….throw them in for the cost of doing business and I’m sure even more people will show up.
