Salem Public Library

We love the Salem library. They have tons of options and areas that make it easy to find what you’re looking for. The staff is wonderful. I’ve only been a few times and they helped me know return times for different things. Their policies are easy and I love that it auto scans books on the counter. They have great options for homeschooling. There’s backpacks with different subjects inside to teach your kids. Some have dvds, but all of the backpacks come with various books in that subject. For example we got sign language, horses, family, and gardening. The limit is huge for how many books each person can take. My family of six gets 50 books and each backpack only counts as one. There’s playrooms as well for littles. I wish the fantasy section was a bit bigger, but I love having this library.

Beautiful library and great selection of books! There are tons of shelves. It's a very big library. It has lot's of computers to get stuff done on. Since the renovation the library has become amazing! They have something for everyone. There are study rooms that have whiteboards and a tv. The lights can also be dimmed. I recommend going here if you’re ever visiting Salem or don’t have anything to do. Also they don’t charge you for late books.

The renovated public libraries is a thing of beauty.. the upper floor has been scaled back for use of children and teens and the light from the upper Windows flows into the first floor making everything bright and airy. The first floor dedicated to adults is open and airy, and well-organized. I urge you to visit our local library at your earliest opportunity to browse and spend some time.
