5/9/17 Innovation Cafe – Oregon Health Authority

I work for the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) Transformation Center, and our office hosted a 7-hour event at the Salem Convention Center on 5/9/17 called the Innovation Cafe. Leading up to the event, our contacts at the hotel were very helpful and prompt in getting back to us about our event needs - including setting up an onsite walk through. During the event, convention center staff was very professional and responsive.
There were just two minor concerns that we wanted to express: 1) Breakfast was to be set up by 7:30 am, but when we arrived for setup we were told that 8 am was the planned setup time. However, once event staff were made aware of this error, they moved quickly to make sure that breakfast was set up quickly. 2) I think because of the confusion over the start time, an A/V staff person arrived later than we would have liked to confirm setup. For this type of event, it wasn't a big deal, but for larger events (w/ more complex A/V setups) it might have been an issue.
Outside of that, we were very pleased with our experience using the Salem Convention Center for our event - and will definitely try to host our next event in Salem here.
