Periwinkle Park & the Periwinkle Bike Path are a tranquil place, where you can see and enjoy rolling grassy hills and fields, trees of various varieties, birds, ducks, nutrias, park benches and I've even seen kids fishing in the creek before. The playground has some nice structures which kids and parents really enjoy. The bike path is also a great walking or jogging path and a great place to walk dogs, too. There's a nice wooden footbridge that crosses the creek where the bike path merges with the path from the end of Columbus Street. It's a pleasant place to stop and enjoy the scenery and watch the ducks swimming under and by. Be careful in the fall and winter when riding over the foot bridge because it can get wet and slippery with leaves or cold weather, too. There's porta potties close to the bridge also. I've seen people throw a blanket down on the grassy hills and have picnics, too. The bike path starts at Grand Prairie Rd alongside Periwinkle Creek; and after you cross over the foot bridge it continues along the creek, past Periwinkle Elementary, the playground and then wraps back around and then crosses SE 21st Ave; and continues all the way to Queen; and then diverts over and you re-enter the path behind the Geary Street Samaritan Urgent Care building, where you can follow it down past Kinder Park and all the way to Lowes on Pacific Blvd.

Beautiful fall colors on the many varieties of trees in this neighborhood park. Paved paths with frequent and well-placed benches. Parking was difficult but paved sidewalks walkways for walkers and bikers make it easily accessible.
