5-Star Review of Mike Hall Home Team - Real Estate Agents - Cascade Hasson, Sotheby's International Realty
Mike Hall and Jenna Hall, together the “Mike Hall Home Team,” are the best residential real estate brokers in the Portland area. On a scale from 1 to 10, they’re right around a 12.6. This was our first move in over 30 years - time to downsize from a house to a condominium. The criteria we set, primarily location, building age and price range, eliminated around 80% to 90% of the condos in the region. Within a few weeks of looking, Mike found us the perfect home. We’ve been here for three months, and it’s even better than I thought it would be when we signed the closing paperwork. I’m grateful every day. Once we’d moved, the focus shifted to selling our house. Throughout, the way Mike and Jenna approached the process was “doing it right.” With every significant decision, Mike explained the objective and his reasoning clearly and thoroughly. Ours was not a “high-end” property; realistically, mid-range. Also, in adapting the house and especially the yard to our tastes and preferences over three decades, we had undoubtedly narrowed our potential market. Mike and Jenna treated the unique aspects of the property as its highlights. It worked. Mike and Jenna found us the unicorn within the population of potential buyers. As a team, Mike and Jenna complement each other extremely well. Mike has a wealth of experience in the residential real estate realm, and he deploys that knowledge to his clients’ advantage. He’s also good with people. Getting a house ready for listing isn’t simple, and it can have its challenges. I’m not the easiest person to deal with. A couple times, Mike had to intervene on our behalf with independent consultants we’d retained; and he did so calmly, directly and honestly. Jenna is gifted with a world-class sense of the practical aesthetic of selling a house - what will appeal, visually and emotionally, to a potential buyer. When we reviewed the on-line presentation she had crafted in support of the listing, my wife and I had the same reaction: it looked so good, we briefly questioned our decision to let go of the place. In both buying and selling, it’s fair to say that we were remarkably lucky. Years ago, I heard a football coach say that “Luck is preparation meeting opportunity.” I think he was right. The preparation was all Mike’s and Jenna’s, drawing on their experience and deploying their skills; we got the benefit, and it gave us opportunities that frankly we could not have foreseen a half-year ago. I’m grateful every day.
