5-Star Review of māk
I've been to māk several times since it opened. You might say I am already a "regular." The best part of crafting in the māk studio is that my brain doesn't wander to the other things I "should" be doing. I get to be fully present and relax, which I never really am at home with the "noise" of chores ever present. The laundry basket (who am I kidding... baskets) can't give me the side-eye at māk, and that's a wonderful thing. I've done both drop-in projects (the ring dish, macrame heart, mini-museum, etc.) and taken a workshop (watercolor cards). I also had a craft at home I couldn't get across the finish-line, so I took it in and Laurie pulled the supplies I needed to get it done. Doesn't get any better than that! There are projects for ALL skill levels at māk. I've sat next to a professional artist trying a new medium (no surprise; she was great at it), as well as a man who was meeting mod-podge for the first time. For me, it really is about the experience - the craft I walk out with is just the bonus. I am grateful to be part of this growing community Laurie is welcoming in her space. I look forward to going back again, and again, and again...
